Synopsis

In 1996, in eastern Hokkaido. Due to an unmissable exam, the beautiful girl Saji Hirazawa (played by Yu Aoi) encounters the sunny and cheerful boy Kohei Kiuchi (played by Toma Ikuta). However, this meeting does not go smoothly; Kohei causes a car accident that delays Saji's exam and is subsequently expelled from school. A bad start does not necessarily lead to a bad ending, as Kohei and Saji come to know and fall in love with each other, becoming a couple. As graduation approaches, their relationship faces challenges. Kohei inherits his family business and becomes a fisherman who struggles against the sea, while Saji, after a difficult period of preparation, successfully gets admitted to the prestigious Waseda University in Tokyo. Time and distance become the biggest obstacles between them. During this time, Kohei's family faces bankruptcy and their livelihood becomes difficult. Saji also experiences constant setbacks in her job search. Their romance seems to be slowly fading away... This film is inspired by a song of the same name by Aoi Yō.
