 Synopsis
Devdas (played by Shahrukh Khan), born into a landlord family, and Paro (played by Aishwarya Rai), a common girl, have been childhood sweethearts. However, Devdas is sent to London to study, and they are separated for many years. When Devdas returns home after completing his studies, Paro has grown into a beautiful young woman. Their love is still passionate, but Devdas's family shows arrogance and disdain towards Paro's mother's proposal, which deeply hurts her. Under pressure from his family, Devdas is unable to reconcile with Paro, who decides to marry a wealthy widower. Regretting his fate, Devdas begins to drink heavily and indulge in a life of debauchery, suffering from unrequited love, while Paro must adhere to the virtues of a wife, burying her love and regrets in her heart. Devdas, in a state of self-destruction, ultimately loses his life, and before dying, he struggles to make it to the door in hopes of seeing Paro one last time...
