A Ren (played by Sam Hui) from a bakery, and A Shen (played by Tsui Hark) and A Qing (played by Teddy Robin) from a towing company lose their jobs due to a minor car accident. A Ren has to lie to cope with taking care of his mother, while A Qing follows his friend A Shen back home and temporarily lives under the same roof. The saying goes that you make friends through conflict; the three of them become close friends due to this incident and eventually get jobs at a noodle factory. However, on their first day, they run into trouble. The workshop director (played by Ng Man Tat) and the factory manager, who favor their own people, turn things upside down and try to fire the three of them, looking to frame them in place of a woman who made a mistake. Thanks to the help of the chairman's daughter, A Mei (played by Joey Wong), they manage to keep their jobs. From that point on, the three friends, along with A Mei, engage in a hilarious battle of wits against the corrupt factory manager and his cronies...
