Synopsis

During the early Republican era, the country was in turmoil, with warlords vying for power leading to the suffering of the people. Cao Yun (played by Lin Qingxia) is the daughter of General Cao, a major warlord, and also a patriot. However, she is unwilling to see her father borrow huge sums of money from foreign banks in the name of the nation to help Yuan Shikai, further exacerbating the nation's financial troubles. Thus, she secretly connects with revolutionaries. Caught between her loyalty to the country and her father, Cao Yun struggles internally. Bai Niu (played by Ye Qianwen) grew up in the Spring and Harmony Theatre, where the theatre master’s father (played by Wu Ma) treated her as a servant. Obsessed with performing, she has always hoped to take the stage but never got the opportunity. Xiang Hong (played by Zhong Chuhong) is a greedy courtesan who steals a large box of jewels from a fleeing warlord, only to accidentally bring the jewels into the Spring and Harmony Theatre. These three women meet by chance, and through the intertwining of their lives, they compose a patriotic legend together...
