Old Zhang (played by Kwan Hoi-Shan), who hasn't interfered in the matters of the world for many years, opens a seaside PUB and lives a simple and happy life with his daughter A Li (played by Maggie Cheung) and assistant A Lie (played by Eric Tsang). A Li and A Lie are a couple. One day, Old Zhang's old partner finds him and forces him to come out of retirement, but during the process, things take a sudden turn, and A Lie, who was brought in as a driver, becomes a murderer. When Old Zhang calls A Li to join him and A Lie in a smuggling attempt, they get caught. To save him, A Li agrees to work with the mafia boss (played by Chan Fai-Ming) and tricks A Lie into going to the Philippines first. Six years later, A Lie has become a famous hitman in the Philippines while A Li has taken on a bossy persona, surrounded by loyal followers like A Xiang (played by Tony Leung). The mafia boss learns that his former partner plans to testify against him in court, so he sends someone to eliminate that person, who turns out to be A Lie. During the mission, A Lie unintentionally reunites with A Li, and despite having not forgotten her over the past six years, he remains cold. Time cannot extinguish love; after learning the truth about what happened years ago, A Lie holds A Li's hand, always reminiscing about her. Unfortunately, their reunion is witnessed by the mafia boss's subordinate, the scheming Liao Ge (played by Lau Ka-Hing), who has always wanted to take advantage of A Li. As A Li packs her things, Liao Ge harbors ill intentions...
