 Synopsis
Fang Shiyu (played by Jet Li) was originally a young scion in the city, known for his righteous spirit. One day, he heard that the rich man Lei Laohu from another province was setting up a competition for martial arts and marriage again, and also heard that Miss Lei was gorgeous, so he went to compete for her hand. When Fang Shiyu was about to win and prepare to defeat his future mother-in-law, Li Xiaohuan, a gust of wind blew up the veil of the lady sitting on the stage, and he discovered that she was actually an ugly woman, so he immediately pretended to be defeated and fled. Fang Shiyu's mother, Miao Cuihua (played by Siu Fong Fong), heard that her son had lost in the competition and felt ashamed, so she transformed into Fang Shiyu's older brother, Fang Dayu, to go to the ring and defeated Li Xiaohuan in one go. However, Lei Laohu sent someone that night to take Fang Dayu for the marriage. To save his mother, Shiyu had to go in place of her to marry into the Lei family. The mother and son planned to escape together right after the wedding, but unexpectedly, Fang Shiyu's father, Fang De, returned!
