Former agent Yan Tieyou (played by Zheng Yusheng) is living in poverty after retirement and is suffering from late-stage cancer, with little time left. One day, Tieyou unexpectedly encounters his former superior, Lee Taihan (played by Kim Gya-soo), the head of the Investigation Bureau, who informs him that the leaders of the North Korean Ministry of State Security and the Guard Bureau are suspected of staging a coup, and that both have significant ties with China and South Korea, making it extremely sensitive.
