At the end of 1937, the Communist Party sent Communist Party member Yang Yiming to the Japanese-occupied area of Culai, Shandong, to secretly launch an armed uprising. The Japanese army assigned the head of the Special Higher Police, Fujita Osamu, to sabotage the uprising. Yang Yiming, code-named 'Mountaineer Tiger,' made contact with local comrade Zhou Wangwen in Tai'an. Unexpectedly, the contact failed, and Zhou Wangwen was captured by the Japanese army. Yang Yiming lost communication with the organization. At this time, Captain Chang Yu of the National Army's 74th Division mistook Yang Yiming for a fraud and captured him. As Zhou Wangwen's execution time approached, there was also a military person from the National Army's 74th Division, Yang Qingquan, facing execution. To save them, Yang Yiming revealed his identity and cooperated with Chang Yu to raid the execution site, killing many Japanese soldiers. The two then established a strong friendship against the Japanese. Subsequently, our base was set up in the Wild Man Cave of Culai Mountain. However, the base was quickly exposed and besieged by the Japanese army, resulting in significant losses for us.
