The film's story is based on the Battle of Su Village. In January 1941, the 3rd Company of the 3rd Brigade of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army received orders to protect the safe relocation of the Shandong Military District government by holding off the Japanese elite forces, which outnumbered them several times, in Su Village. Ultimately, 126 soldiers, including Company Commander Zhong Mingxin, sacrificed their lives heroically, buying precious time for the safe relocation of the military district authorities and civilians, leaving a significant mark in the history of the抗战 in Shandong.
