The Secret of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival

The play is adapted from Ye Wenbiao's novel of the same name. During the Song Dynasty, in a corner of Sparrow Lane in Dongjing City, lived a family of five with distinct personalities, including Zhao Buyou (played by Zhang Songwen) and Wen Yue (played by Bai Baihe). Zhao Buyou was originally a low-level clerk at the Dali Temple, desiring only a simple and ordinary life, while his wife, Wen Yue, had her heart set on buying a house and land. The family often bickered but also shared a warm and happy life. An unexpected event drew them into the sensational Mei Chuan case, leading them on a magical journey of solving various mysteries while also addressing their continual family issues. Throughout this process, the family learned to understand and accept one another, each experiencing personal growth and overcoming numerous challenges together. As the cases were solved one after another, all clues pointed to the "Great Benefactor of Jiangnan." Ultimately, through the joint efforts of the family of five, they revealed the hypocrisy and evil deeds of the villains, breaking the chaotic situation of market monopolies and unclear official paths, safeguarding their family's happiness while also protecting the peace of the citizens of Dongjing City.
