The newlywed Laurie. Wade discovered her marriage, and ultimately her entire life was shattered by her deeply ingrained mental illness behaviors. She went from simple "short-circuits" to overt acts of murder. The film never tried to explain the reasons behind her mental breakdown (aside from hints), but instead took us into her terrifying mental state.
