 Synopsis
In the mid-21st century, the Earth's environment suffered tremendous destruction, and human civilization and beliefs collapsed uncontrollably. At a time of chaos, a technology company named ROC rapidly rose to prominence with their developed "Pilgrim 7000" intelligent robot. Pilgrims penetrated every corner of society, helping people manage everything from life to death. Bound by two fundamental principles, the robots worked diligently without complaint while also experiencing various cruel and ruthless treatments. Jack Bogen (played by Antonio Banderas) is an insurance claims adjuster under ROC, and during his work, he accidentally discovers that many Pilgrims have not only been tampered with privately, but their fundamental principles have also been violated. The robots either harm others or self-harm, leading Jack to sense that there seems to be a conspiracy behind it all. He leaves the city to seek the truth in the slums, where he witnesses the miraculous scene of a robot named Colleen self-repairing. His relentless pursuit also places Jack in the midst of immense danger...
