The story takes place in a distant future, where every corner of the world has been ravaged by nuclear pollution, ecosystems have been nearly destroyed, resources are sharply decreasing, and humanity's survival faces a huge threat. To reduce the population, the government has mandated that each family can only give birth once. John (played by Christopher Lambert), once a special forces soldier, lost his child in an accident with his wife Karen (played by Loryn Locklin). Afterward, Karen becomes pregnant again, and in order to give birth to the child in her womb, Karen and John embark on a journey to escape. At the border, John is captured and imprisoned in an underground jail, where the guards implant a device called 'ZED-10' in his body to monitor his every move, even his thoughts and dreams. In a twist of fate, John learns how to remove the device. Once he breaks free from the surveillance, he decides to escape with his wife and their soon-to-be-born child.
