In the 1990s, university graduate Naoharu Hanzawa (played by Masato Sakai), burdened with a tragic past, enters the Central Industry Bank as he desired, where he works alongside peers Naobumi Kondo (played by Kenichi Takitoh) and Shinobu Wataru (played by Mitsuhiro Oikawa) toward their respective goals. The seemingly glamorous bankers endure unimaginable torment during and after the bubble economy collapse. As the 21st century approaches, the Central Industry Bank merges with Tokyo First Bank to become Tokyo Central Bank. At this time, Hanzawa holds the position of financing section manager at the Osaka West branch. He firmly believes in the inherent goodness of humanity while upholding universal ethics in fulfilling his duties as a banker. A loan fraud case worth 500 million yen pushes Hanzawa to the edge of his career and leads to a complete break with the branch manager and industry executives who only prioritize self-preservation, flattery, and profit over morality.
