Originally a restaurant staff member, Kaneko Haruko (played by Irisa Nakamori) enters a language school to temporarily work as a teacher through the introduction of her former homeroom teacher. She initially thought that teaching her mother tongue to foreigners would be a simple task that didn't require much thought. However, after actually experiencing it, Haruko discovers that there are many issues in the Japanese language that even Japanese people are unaware of. The school is made up of various teachers, including Haruko, Shibuya Taiyo (played by Takahiro Aoki), and Kakutori Miyuki (played by Natsuki Harada), each with different personalities, along with nine students from different countries. These nine students have come to Japan for various reasons to learn the language and culture. The questions they ask often leave Haruko, as a Japanese person, feeling challenged. Through interactions with these students, Haruko gains a new perspective on her own country and culture.
