This film is adapted from Joe Hill's short story of the same name: In a suburban town in Colorado, USA, during 1978, a boy named Finney Shaw is kidnapped by a killer nicknamed 'The Grabber,' who has already abducted and murdered five children. While imprisoned in the basement by his captor, Finney discovers an antique phone; although the phone line is cut, he receives calls at night from past victims trying to help him. At the same time, Finney's sister Gwen begins to have dreams about related visions, guiding her to find Finney. The supernatural events surrounding the siblings become the key to saving Finney.
