The story continues from the previous installment, with Joy (Charlotte Gainsbourg) slowly narrating. Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), who has never known the meaning of desire, is deeply fascinated. Joy and Jerome (Shia LaBeouf) have a child, but this crystallization of their love does not bring happiness to Joy, who is becoming increasingly immersed in the sea of desire. The burdens of life create a distance between Jerome and Joy, who once loved each other.
