The series is based on the horror novel of the same name by Brian McGreevy. In a steel town in Pennsylvania, the body of a young girl is discovered abandoned near the Godfrey family's steel mill. With the police unable to solve the case, 17-year-old gypsy troublemaker Peter Rumancek and members of the Godfrey family, including Roman Godfrey (played by Bill Skarsgård) and his mother Olivia Godfrey (played by Famke Janssen), also become suspects. To clear their names, Peter and Roman decide to investigate together, but they soon uncover shocking things... Who is the murderer? What secrets does this ordinary steel town hold?
