This film captures the story of Bo Yikao, the son of the Western Bo Marquis Ji Chang, who selflessly sacrifices himself to save his father in the famous classical novel 'Investiture of the Gods.' During the Shang Dynasty, Su Daji, the beautiful daughter of Su Hu, the Marquis of Jizhou, grew up alongside Bo Yikao as childhood friends. King Zhou, the tyrant of the Shang Dynasty, was stubborn and debauched; upon hearing of Daji's beauty, he summoned her to the palace, leading to an inevitable separation of the loving couple. The three monsters of Xuanyuan's grave, under the orders of Nuwa, deceived King Zhou and destroyed the nearly exhausted Shang dynasty, causing a thousand-year-old fox spirit to take form through Daji, gaining favor in the palace and bringing disaster to the Shang dynasty. As Marquis Ji Chang was imprisoned by King Zhou and his fate uncertain, his son Bo Yikao fell into danger trying to save him and was tragically killed, ground into meat paste for making meat cakes. For the sake of the common people, Ji Chang was compelled to eat the meat cake made from his son's flesh, and then he escaped from Chaoge to return to Xiqi and regroup to resist the tyranny of King Zhou.
