The third season of "Bridgerton," created by Shondaland and new series head Jess Brownell, is returning. In the previous season, Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) heard Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) make disparaging remarks about her, and this season she finally gives up her long-standing crush on Colin. She decides it's time to find a husband, preferably one who can allow her enough independence to distance herself from her mother and sisters, continuing to live her double life as Miss Lady Danbury. However, lacking confidence, Penelope's attempts in the marriage market end in disaster. Meanwhile, Colin returns from summer travels looking fresh and charismatic. But he is dismayed to discover that Penelope, who has always admired him, is now gradually ignoring him. To salvage their friendship, Colin offers to help Penelope build her confidence and find a suitable husband this season. But as his efforts begin to pay off, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just platonic. For Penelope, her discord with Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie) complicates matters further: Eloise is in a scandalous situation that no one could have anticipated...
