In order to complete the thesis on the world's most difficult surgery, Batista, Kato Akira (played by Izumi Inamori) from Myojin University sought the help of Asada Ryutaro (played by Kenji Sakaguchi), who had previously led the 'Medical Dragon' (the world's highest level rescue medical team). Although he is an exceptionally skilled and genius surgeon, Asada has been rejected by all hospitals due to his overly strong personal style, which has led to some people disliking him. After arriving at Myojin, Asada begins to assemble a team to perform the surgery, but he finds that the doctors here seem to be mediocre, unconcerned with the patients' lives, and make decisions purely to reduce the hospital's death rate. Even his immediate superior, Professor Noguchi (played by Kazunori Nishi), treats patients merely as pawns to help himself rise to the position of hospital director. Moreover, everyone is fully aware of the risks involved in participating in such a difficult surgery as Batista and the benefits that come with its success, leading to an imminent storm of intense internal conflicts. No one expected that Asada's ideal team would actually focus on a group of 'marginalized' individuals, and faced with such a problematic team, everyone was secretly sweating.
