Thousands of monsters descend from the sky, the number of monsters reaches an all-time high in the series, and the setting upgrades from the previous rural towns to the largest metropolis in the United States—New York City. The world has fallen, and places where humans used to live, such as streets, subways, and supermarkets, have become rife with danger. Making a sound means being 'face to face' with the hidden monsters, turning bustling New York into a silent isolated city, where the surviving humans stage an extreme escape.
