 Synopsis
Sherlock Holmes once said: "Give me a problem, give me work, give me the deepest codes, give me the most complicated analytical tasks, then I feel most comfortable and do not need artificial stimulation. I detest a monotonous life; I pursue mental excitement, so I have chosen my own special profession — one might even say I have created this profession, for I am the only person in the world who engages in such work." If you also despise a dull life and seek mental excitement, then surely you must enjoy reading 'Sherlock Holmes.' For the pleasure of reading detective novels is akin to being a detective: Who is the murderer? You must investigate the scene with Mr. Holmes, interrogate witnesses, search for clues, and authenticate evidence; you will engage in reasoning, hypothesizing, excluding possibilities, affirming, negating, and negating the negation alongside Mr. Holmes... and then you can point out the true culprit's identity at the same time as Mr. Holmes — that’s right, it must be him! This is also the charm of detective dramas. Jeremy Brett — the true idol in the hearts of 'Holmes' fans, has starred in 41 episodes of the Granada Sherlock Holmes series over a span of more than ten years (note: 40 episodes in ten years, that’s how a classic is forged!), interrupted only slightly due to health concerns, with a performance style that reached perfection. He was elegant in demeanor, expressive in voice, with every detail reflecting the splendor of reason and the brilliance of wisdom. What he portrayed was not merely Holmes' external coldness and arrogance but rather the love and compassion for humanity that shone through his captivating, somewhat melancholic green eyes. The show is remarkable in the dissection of cases; you cannot make a judgment until the very last moment. However, when the clouds of doubt are skillfully dispelled layer by layer through Holmes' brilliant reasoning, the suspense transforms into pleasure deep within the viewers' hearts!
