The young doctor (Lin Weitu) discovers that all patients suffering from strange diseases have been cursed by a form of black magic, but his friend (Di Long) does not believe in such supernatural claims. His wife (Tian Ni) even tests it on herself but falls victim to a "death curse"; if it cannot be broken, she will die in twenty-four hours. This film is written by sci-fi novel master Ni Kuang and directed by seasoned director He Menghua. Di Long breaks away from his usual role as a period hero, performing in a modern horror film for the first time, which is quite rare.
