His bizarre death led to a halt in the monitoring and pursuit. At this point, the National Security Bureau captured the deceased's brother, Wang Hao. They devised a plan for investigator Shen Kang (played by Sun Honglei) to impersonate Wang Hao, thereby luring the snake out of its hole. The undercover pursuit was linked to Wang Hao's intermediary, the flight attendant Li Xiaowan (played by Fu Jing). As they interacted, feelings developed between the two.
