This film is adapted from Philip K. Dick's short story "Adjustment Team." David Norris (played by Matt Damon), who is naturally suited for the political stage, is a rising star in politics. During his confident campaign for the New York Senate, he unexpectedly meets the beautiful ballet dancer Alice (played by Emily Blunt), and they fall in love at first sight. Just as their romance begins to blossom, David is suddenly kidnapped by a group of mysterious individuals dressed in black suits, hats, and sunglasses. This group, claiming to be from the Federal Bureau of Life Adjustment, tells David that he is destined to become president, and Alice will become a world-renowned choreographer. Their love for each other would thwart both of their futures. The bureau will do everything it can to prevent the two from meeting again. Will David, knowing the truth, pursue his dreams and give up Alice, or will he fight against the Bureau of Adjustment for true love?
