The title refers to the action command of the 'August 23' armed uprising, which took place in 1944 to resist the Nazis. At that time, Romania was a puppet government of the Nazis, and the German High Command devised a secret operation plan called 'Operation Margarita II in Romania,' aiming for the complete occupation of Romania. The Romanian Communist Party sent a patriotic officer, Captain Udreya, from the Romanian Armed Forces through the party's underground organization to obtain this secret plan. Udreya, with the assistance of underground party members such as Toma, overcame numerous difficulties and eventually defeated his former classmate Werner, who had studied in Germany, and acquired the plan. The armed forces and the patriotic guards, mainly composed of the working class, under the leadership of the Communist Party, successfully launched the historically significant armed uprising on August 23, 1944, overthrowing the Antonescu puppet regime and beginning the struggle to liberate the motherland.
