This incident drew significant attention from the senior management of the Hong Kong police force. The Commissioner (played by Wang Mindong) was on an overseas visit at the time, leaving the hawkish Deputy Commissioner Lee Wenbin (played by Leung Ka-fai) and the young management Deputy Commissioner Liu Jiahui (played by Aaron Kwok) in charge of the case, which was dubbed 'Cold War,' with Lee Wenbin as the overall commander.
