In 1939, the Sino-Japanese War was in full swing. Young nurse Sakura (played by Bunko Yawoi) was assigned to work at the Japanese Army Hospital in Tianjin. Her pure beauty attracted young soldiers who had fought bravely. One night, Sakura was raped by a group of injured soldiers led by Sakamoto (played by Jotaro Chiba), and as punishment, Sakamoto was sent back to the battlefield. Two months later, the war intensified. Sakura was dispatched to assist at the frontline hospital in Shencheng. Here, countless soldiers were wounded due to the war. Sakura and the chief doctor, Okabe (played by Nobusuke Ashida), worked tirelessly every day; to save more lives, they even had to resort to amputations to shorten treatment times. During this period, Sakura encountered the mortally wounded Sakamoto, comforted the severely injured Private Yoko (played by Yusuke Kawazu), who had lost both arms and was suffering immensely, and gradually fell into an emotional attachment to Dr. Okabe.
