Jiang (Du Dawei), Chen (Wu Yilong), and Xiong (Wu Huaxin) are three boys from the same village who grew up together like brothers. After graduating from a pre-vocational program, Hong has struggled to find work, and in order to support his family, he reluctantly ends up working as a shampoo boy at a hair salon with Xiong. Later, under the recommendation of his mother, Aunt Rong (Luo Lan), he becomes an apprentice locksmith, but he has not been able to keep any of the jobs he has taken and has suffered from the pressures and bullying of adults. Jiang's father is a drug addict who owes a huge debt to loan shark Brother Huo (Wu Zhihong), leading to frequent harassment of their family. The three boys, who love to play with guns, end up boldly forming a gang to rob out of desperation; however, because of their good nature, they fail every time and only create a series of absurd and ironic jokes, ultimately getting involved in a murder case. The case is investigated by Inspector Li Jiaguai (Li Xiuxian), who has extensive experience in solving cases. Short and long branches are powerful, and every size of bomb makes a sound.
