Sean runs an advertising agency in New York, while Owen is a handyman and musician from a small town. The two swap homes during the holiday season. Sean's assistant Mia helps Owen settle into his new apartment, while Owen sends Ryan, a repairman for the broken heating, to help Sean experience the charm of small-town life. Owen feels out of place in the big city and tries to flirt with Harlow, a highly ambitious model/actor/singer who lives in the apartment building. One night, after Mia takes Owen on a tour of the town, Harlow sees him walk into the elevator wearing clothes borrowed from Sean's closet. Harlow assumes that Owen is wealthy and flirts with him, even setting up a date.
