The Snowy Plains of the Forest Sea 1960

In the winter of 1946, the People's Liberation Army dispatched a bandit eradication team led by the regiment's chief of staff, Shao Jianbo (played by Zhang Yong), deep into the forest area where bandits roamed. They mobilized the masses to implement land reform while also striking against the bandits hiding in the mountains. One day, the small team discovered traces of the bandit named Yico (played by Meng Qingfang) at the River God Temple and cleverly captured him. They found a reconnaissance map on him and, through interrogation, learned that the bandit leader, Zuo Shandiao (played by Bi Yu), planned to hold a banquet of a hundred chickens to celebrate his birthday on New Year's Eve. After careful consideration, it was decided to send the reconnaissance hero Yang Zirong (played by Wang Runsheng) disguised as a bandit named Hu Biao to infiltrate the tiger's den and coordinate with the small team for a clever plan to take Wutai Mountain. After ascending the mountain, Zuo Shandiao did not trust Yang Zirong, but after several confrontations, Yang Zirong presented the reconnaissance map, which dispelled Zuo Shandiao's suspicions. He appointed Yang Zirong as the deputy colonel of the regiment and the chief steward of the chicken banquet. Utilizing this advantageous position, Yang Zirong conducted comprehensive reconnaissance of Wutai Mountain's military deployment and cleverly transmitted intelligence out.
