In Episode 27, Ryotaro and his companions return to the past to track down the strange demon god, but they are unaware that they have fallen into the trap set by King牙. When Ryotaro and the others finish off the strange demon god and try to return to the Den-Liner, they discover that the Den-Liner has already been hijacked by King牙... The group is forced to stay in the past, and in the worst-case scenario, Ryotaro loses all memories of becoming Den-O, which means Momotaros cannot possess Ryotaro's body. By chance, Ryotaro meets his 10-year-old self (referred to as 'Little Ryotaro' in the show) and the strange demon god Zigg, and with Sakurai's help, he begins the journey to track the Den-Liner. On the other hand, King牙, who has returned to the Edo period, successfully seizes the divine train Gao-Liner and captures the approaching Ryotaro, riding the Gao-Liner back to December 26, 1988.
