The film mainly tells the story of the Shaolin monk Da Long, who is obsessed with martial arts and is competitive by nature. When he competes for a position as a disciple of the Damo Institute, he strikes ruthlessly. His master believes that although Da Long is skilled, his understanding of martial arts is shallow, and therefore he awards the position to Da Long's junior brother and sends Da Long to leave the temple and train in the secular world. After leaving the temple, Da Long arrives at a Kung Fu town to live. This place is home to many martial arts masters, with hidden talents everywhere. One day, four foreign masters arrive in the town, and their appearance completely disrupts the tranquility of the Kung Fu town. Faced with their provocation, Da Long and several masters are defeated by the four. Da Long is deeply impacted and falls into despair. At this moment, a venerable old man (played by Liang Xiaolong) appears beside him. Da Long knows this person is extraordinary and wishes to become his disciple. After being rejected multiple times, Da Long persists, eventually moving the old man to teach him. In the Kung Fu town martial arts competition held once every five years, Da Long invites his junior brother who has entered the Damo Institute. The two join forces to battle the four fierce foreign masters and ultimately win the championship. Just when Da Long is feeling smug about winning the championship, the national treasure 'Qianjin Yaofang', which has been guarded for many years in the town, gets stolen, causing a huge uproar. It turns out that the four foreign masters are actually skilled members of an international special forces organization. Their challenge was a pretense, while stealing 'Qianjin Yaofang' was their true intention. Therefore, Da Long and his junior brother assist the police in a life-and-death pursuit, ultimately bringing those who dared to offend our great nation to justice and successfully retrieving our ancient books and texts.
