In September 2006, a three-person reconnaissance team of Palas set off from their outpost, overlooking the Kajaki Reservoir in southern Afghanistan, where they will participate in the fight against Al-Qaeda.As they crossed a dry riverbed, one of them unfortunately stepped on a landmine that was actually left behind during the Russian occupation about 25 years ago.His comrades rushed to him, only to find that they were surrounded by an unknown number of mines, and every step they took could result in serious injuries or even death.
