Seven British elderly people who are in their twilight years travel to Jaipur, India for vacation.Among the seven, the understanding Evelyn (Judi Dench) tries to live independently after losing her husband; Justice Graham (Tom Wilkinson) with heart disease carries unspeakable secrets; Douglas (Bill Nighy) and Joan hope to improve the rigid relationship between husband and wife; the old naughty boy Norman and the old pretty Maggie are always looking forward to a romantic encounter; as for Murier (Maggie Smith), she always seems a bit cold and mean while waiting for the operation.The seven people with their own thoughts were attracted by the exotic advertisements and stayed at the Marigod Hotel together.But the real hotel is not as comfortable as advertised, and this journey to India's soul is not as satisfactory as expected.In a strange country, everyone started to think about the rest of their lives.
