This film is adapted from a beloved children's book of the same name by Lois Duncan. 16-year-old orphan Andy (Emma Roberts) and her younger brother Bruce (Jake T. Austin) are adopted by a family that forbids them from having pets. They can only settle their inseparable puppy 'Friday' in an abandoned hotel.
