Riku Ana (played by Omori Nanpo), in middle age, still lives a solitary and unremarkable life. Out of desperation, he returns to his long-lost hometown to make a living. Although it is his hometown, Riku has no pleasant memories here; he was abandoned by his parents and left to wander in a foreign land. Now, he is just a stranger in the eyes of the villagers. In his hometown, Riku meets a woman named Kyoko Okabe (played by Miwa Hitomi). Kyoko has a conspicuous birthmark on her face, which causes her to live under the scrutiny and gossip of others throughout her life. She is well aware of this and has long given up hope for love. In this way, Riku brutally and forcefully intervenes in Kyoko's life. Although Kyoko resents Riku's actions, she cannot help but cling to the brief warmth he brings into her life. The two become entangled in a distorted relationship.
