On the surface, Lei (played by Shinobu Terajima) appears to be an ordinary middle-aged woman, but deep down, she harbors a secret known only to herself. Lei's mind is troubled; starting from a certain day, various voices have begun to echo within her—cursing, arguing, and idle chatter—constantly bombarding her with negativity, leading her mental state to the brink of collapse. Gradually losing her appetite, sex drive, and even sleep, Lei realizes the severity of her problems, but the failures of her various attempts push her into deep despair. In a chance encounter, while getting drunk in a convenience store, she meets a stranger who is a long-distance truck driver (played by Nao Omori). Voices in her head encourage her to follow this man, and despite not understanding the reason, Lei resolutely embarks on a journey with him.
