In the nineteenth century, during the civil war in Japan, the old shogunate forces were steadily retreating, while the new government army continued to advance. In the decisive territory of the 'Shin'ata' domain, although they expressed support for their old shogunate masters, they only sent eleven soldiers to guard the key crossing against the new government army.
