After divorcing his wife, Christian (played by Claes Bang) starts a new life with his young daughter (played by Lilianne Mardon). Christian holds a position as a curator in an art gallery and is currently planning an installation exhibition called "The Square," hoping to promote a positive concept of equality and mutual assistance. During an incident, Christian's phone gets stolen, and using GPS tracking, he discovers the apartment where the thief lives. In the middle of the night, Christian slips an accusation letter under the doors of every resident in the building, unaware that this thoughtless act would land him in big trouble. To promote the exhibition, Christian brings in a public relations agent, but these two unreliable men quickly turn the exhibition into a chaotic mess. As if that wasn't enough, a brief romantic encounter with journalist Anne (played by Elisabeth Moss) leads Anne to pursue him aggressively.
