syrsoN has announced that his time in BIG has come to an end and he is now on the lookout for a new team as a free agent.
The German AWPer’s second stint with BIG came to an end in December 2024 when he was moved to the bench less than a year after his homecoming in February.
The 28-year-old’s rating during that time took a hit, from 1.14 during his first stint in BIG from 2020 to 2023 and 1.15 during his time with 00NATION from August 2023 to February 2024, down to a flat 1.00 as the team struggled to get positive results.
In 2024, syrsoN participated in two ESL Pro Leagues, a BLAST Premier Fall Groups, IEM Dallas, YaLLa Compass, and the IEM Cologne Play-in, but BIG failed to ever advance past the first stage at any of those tournaments.
BIG finally made it past the initial stage at the PW Shanghai Major, going through the EU RMR qualifier and past the Opening Stage, but then crashed out in the second Swiss group with a last place finish in the Elimination Stage.
syrsoN failed to secure a title in 2024, but came close at the modest ESL Challenger Atlanta, where BIG came in second to FlyQuest. The team’s final stumble came at their final event of the year, the DACH Masters Season 2 Finals, where they finished second to the Arrow minnows (now Permitta).
My journey with BIG has come to an end, but my drive and determination are as strong as ever. I’m now a free agent, looking for a new team that shares my vision and ambitions.
