The young swordsman Himura Kenshin (played by Satoh Takeru) joins the anti-shogunate forces under the leadership of Katsura Kogoro (played by Takahashi Issei) to usher in a new era of freedom for the people, gradually becoming a vanguard in eliminating those who obstruct the anti-shogunate movement.
