The Eastern City University Medical Department Affiliated Hospital, located in a marginal area, has gained nationwide fame due to the extraordinary 'Saeki-style' mitral valve repair surgery performed by Professor Kiyoshi Saeki (played by Masanobu Uehara), whose black hemostatic forceps add a touch of mythical prestige to his persona. In stark contrast stands the Dihua University Hospital Affiliated Hospital, whose overall strength far surpasses that of Eastern City University.
