After Shanghai fell in 1937, the French-administered concession became a veritable "island". The underground party members active in the concession received a special mission to escort a film documenting the brutal crimes of the Japanese invaders in China out of Shanghai. The fates of a group of unrelated little people became intertwined because of this film. Surrounded by danger, the "little person" Ah Shou and other justice-loving Chinese compatriots broke through the encirclement, helped the underground party members complete the mission, and achieved their transformation from little people to great heroes.
