On the Deccan Plateau in South India, there once existed a great dynasty called Kakatiya, with its capital at Orugallu (present-day Warangal). Just on the eve of the Mongol invasion that would destroy the Southern Song Dynasty in China, a remarkable Queen Rudramadevi emerged in Kakatiya, bringing the dynasty's culture and military prowess to its peak, often referred to as its golden age. The film tells the legendary life of Rudramadevi. In the film, Queen Rudramadevi is portrayed by Anushka Shetty, while the two princes who serve as her right and left arms are played by Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati respectively.
