Neerupama (played by Pooja Kumar) remains in the U.S. through a loveless marriage to her much older husband, Vissam (played by Kamal Hassan). After obtaining permanent residency in the United States, Neerupama begins to work hard and eventually achieves her long-desired PhD. A marriage without love is destined to be fragile, and over time, Neerupama becomes increasingly dissatisfied with Vissam, who not only lacks charm but also acts effeminately. At work, Neerupama meets her handsome and masculine boss, and the two quickly fall in love. Unable to tolerate her marriage any longer, Neerupama secretly investigates her husband, hoping to find something to use as grounds for divorce. What she discovers is shocking—Neerupama unexpectedly uncovers a secret identity of Vissam.
