The story takes place in Kyoto's Uzumasa, where actor Kameyama (played by Kiyomoto Seizo) has spent his whole life acting in swordplay films, specializing as a 'killed role' — a character who is killed. He has worked diligently and faithfully throughout his life, earning the respect and trust of his peers and juniors through hard work and sweat. However, Kameyama understands that the decline of swordplay films is already unstoppable, and the number of people who love and appreciate them is dwindling, leaving him with a profound sense of loneliness. One day, a young actress named Iga Satsuki (played by Yamamoto Chihiro) approaches Kameyama, hoping that he can be her martial arts instructor. Moved by Satsuki's enthusiasm and sincerity, Kameyama agrees to her request, and they become mentor and student. Under Kameyama's skilled guidance, Satsuki's acting quickly improves, and she soon wins the audience's favor, with a bright career ahead. Meanwhile, the lonely Kameyama decides to return to his hometown to live out the rest of his days.
