This drama tells the story of Seiji Usami (played by Masaya Uchino), who is the chief instructor of the Rescue Education Team training members of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Air Rescue Team (commonly known as PJ). PJ is an elite unit selected to perform rescue operations under particularly harsh conditions such as accidents and disasters, serving as the 'last bastion of life-saving assistance' or the so-called 'ultimate rescue unit.' Usami, the chief instructor who harbors intense passion and breaks conventions in training, along with the trainees aiming to become PJ members, will face a grueling year-long 'hell' of training as they tackle incredibly difficult selection exams.
