Latif Yahia (played by Dominic Cooper) is a soldier fighting on the front lines of the Iraq War, but a decree from President Saddam changes his life on the battlefield. Latif is summoned to the presidential family, but he is not assigned the role of a bodyguard; instead, he is to serve as a body double for the president's son, Uday Hussein. It is well known that Uday is known for his vicious temperament and ruthless behavior, living a life of excess and debauchery. Latif initially wants to refuse this absurd request but realizes it may put himself and his family in danger. Reluctantly, Latif, who has no interest in Uday's lavish lifestyle filled with fast cars, beautiful women, drugs, and violence, is forced to compromise and cautiously becomes Uday's double, living his life of indulgence.
